Mission Statement

America is under attack from enemies both foreign and domestic. American Universities, Multinational Corporations, and Big Box Stores have forgotten that they are American citizens with responsibilities and obligations to those other than their investors and management. They are bleeding America of its scientific and technological knowledge and know how as well as of its manufacturing, research, and development jobs as our assets are exported to The Peoples’ Republic of China generating enormous profits for the elite while destroying the middle class and leaving others in poverty and at the same time risking America’s military security. Elected and appointed officials at the national, state, and local levels who defend American interests and values must be supported, and those who do not must be exposed and replaced. The hour is late.

The era of procrastination, of half-measures, of soothing and baffling expedients, of delays, is coming to its close. In its place we are entering a period of consequences.

An Initial Agenda for Change
  • Maintain regular weekly office hours at an off campus site.
  • Create a known board of advisers.
  • Institute a State Auditor General audit.
  • Create a post of Inspector General.
  • Demand compliance with FOIA and OMA legislation.
  • Initiate the "Texas Plan" for admissions.
  • Decrease Regent Term to six years and have twelve Regents.
  • Limit out of state and foreign enrollments.
  • Require that endowment investments be made only in Michigan and American entities.
  • Establish total transparency for financial aid awards....assets possessed and amount awarded or loaned.
  • Uncouple personal and federal assets for veterans and obey Title 41.
  • Reveal the recipients of complimentary athletic tickets.
  • Qualitatively reveal the financial assets of significant UM administrators and Regents.
  • Limit tuition and housing annual increases to a rate less than that of inflation.
  • The Regents' Agenda in totality and detail must be addressed in public session.
  • UM Trespass Regulations must be in accord with those generally applicable to other public spaces, and banishment can not occur without proper due process procedures.
  • The need must be examined for a DPS , and an actual continuing functional Public Oversight Committee must monthly monitor its activities.
  • Daily activity logs for principle UM Administrators must be kept and be available for inspection.
  • UM resources must be made available in order to serve the public interest.
  • All undergraduate students at the Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint Campuses of the UM will have the same educational opportunities
  • The Regents must publicly respond in writing to all public comments made at Regents' Meetings.
  • A Truth and Reconciliation Committee must be created in order to examine all charges made by Faculty, Staff, and Students relating to illegal and inappropriate behavior on the part of UM Administrators.
  • The UM in seeking outside sources of goods and services must give priority to Michigan businesses, suppliers, and consultants. The acquisition process must be totally transparent and obvious to the participants.

The University of Michigan discovered child pornography on a hospital computer that had been used by a resident physician in Pediatrics & Medicine in May 2011. The crime was not reported to local police until November 2011 after the Penn State scandal. Many university attorneys and officials were well aware of the discovery and failed to report it to police. The public must know who knew what and when. The appropriate people need to be punished. Nothing less than an independent investigation is required to satisfy the public's need to hold accountable those persons responsible

That's why I created a petition to President Mary Sue Coleman and the Board of Regents, which says:

"We call upon President Coleman and the Board of Regents to demand an independent investigation of the failure to report child pornography at the University of Michigan Medical Center"
